Not much has been going on with us, but I figured I would post anyways. Addison didn't nap today, so I'm letting her watch her after-nap show early today, and although I have a million other things to do, I"m going to sit at the computer instead!
My dad and his wife made a last-minute overnight trip yesterday and they both enjoyed Addison and Ryan a lot! We ate a lot and played a lot and Addie and Grandpa played Play Dough for a good hour this morning. My dad can be very silly while playing with kids and Addison was thrilled with his antics.
Ryan is moving all over the place. Every now and then he will tuck his knees up under his stomach and push off the floor on all fours. He grabs everything and is starting to get very noisy at the table when we are all eating and he isn't. He's doing ok with solids, but we tried some blueberry-apple baby food the other day and within 30 minutes he started getting a mild rash all over. It went away about an hour later, but we are going to stay away from berries for awhile.
The weather has been mega-crummy for the past few days, but we are finally getting back into some sunshine and warmth now. Addison asks to go outside pretty often now, and I need to get some more outdoor toys and clean out her sandbox. My mom got us some sort of super-mosquito-repellers for Christmas, and I am desperately hoping they work so that we can enjoy our backyard this spring and summer.
I think we might try to go out to the country this weekend and look for bluebonnets to take pictures with the kids. That is a tradition I really want to start since we are in Texas.
I've been going to the YMCA about twice a week for the past 4 months, partially as a way for Addison to get some playtime and socialization and partially to get myself back into shape after the baby. Now that we are done having kids (Matt got a vasectomy on Friday!), I really want to get my "body for life" or whatever you want to call it. I will be 30 in June and I want to be strong and in shape because I am going to need lots of energy to chase after two busy kids for the next many years. Just going twice a week has made such a major difference! I weigh less than when I got pregnant the first time, and I'm more muscular, so with two more months to go, I should be able to get into even better shape. I'm also putting off buying more clothes until I can buy the size that will last for a long time - no in between clothes for me! Ryan likes going to the Y as well, because there are so many kids and things to look at. Within a couple of months, he'll be crawling and then there will be a whole new world of things to play with there!
Guess that's about it...Wonder Pets is over, so I gotta run!

I so look forward to the summer. Not the HOT weather but with hopefully getting together and playing.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on working out. I still need to get a routine going. I wish I could say I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I look at pictures and think, wow, I was actually skinny. I HATE the between phase. If I put my maternity clothes away, I think I might have 2-3 outfits. Argh!
